December Book Recap

Hi everyone! I used to love reading throughout high school and kind of fell out of that during college and getting on my feet afterwards. This is directly related to the fact that I had a ton of personal things going on and that I was dealing with, so with that being said, it's been a goal of mine to get back into it and I have to say.. I have definitely found my love for reading again and I am so glad I did!

I wanted to try something different and that is a monthly recap of books that I've read during the month! I have been averaging about 2-3 books; however, in the new year I want to keep it around 5-6 books per month. I work full time, am a full time student, and work on this blog so I am trying to maintain everything while also allowing myself the time for things I enjoy, such as reading!

Okay, lets begin!

The Night She Disappeared - Lisa Jewell

Though I did like this book, I do have to say I had recently just finished "Then She Was Gone" by Lisa Jewell and they are similar story lines. This is about a woman who's daughter and her boyfriend disappear after a night out. The woman is taking care of her grandson (her daughter's son) while she discovers the truth of what has happened. I won't spoil the ending but I will say it is a twist. I wouldn't consider this a "page turner" for me as there was a lot of slowness; however, I would definitely recommend this book!

In A Holidaze - Christina Lauren

This is such a cute read and it is perfect for December. It is essentially about a girl who spends her Christmas holiday with her family and family friends keeping up on traditions; however, this year everything is changing, but there is still tradition in newness. It follow a very similar vibe to a Hallmark movie! Like I said, it is a very cute read and I would definitely recommend! It's a fast read so this is one you should consider squeezing in around the holidays!

The Silent Patient - Alex Michaelides

I don't have much to say about this one and I won't lie.. this book wasn't my favorite. For me personally, this book was slow and I really could not pinpoint where the story was going. The plot twist at the end was good and worth the read; however, I'm not sure I would recommend this book to someone.

With the holidays and traveling, that’s what I read this month! Thanks for reading!
