Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I am thankful for SO much today, and everyday. I previously posted my Thanksgiving menu for tonight's dinner; however, I'm going to share our breakfast and plans for the day! You can also take a look at our thanksgiving menu here

When I think of Thanksgiving, I think of being a kid and waking up on this morning. My mom would always have the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade on and we'd have breakfast and later during the afternoon, we would go to a big family dinner. At dinner, there's a few specific things that I remember would always be going on and made Thanksgiving what it was. First, football was always on TV. Once football was over, the kids watched "The Santa Clause". The next thing was cards. After dinner, there was a group of the uncles, grandpas and great uncles who loved playing cards and would play games like SCAT; however, the kids would always join in. This is my favorite memory because I loved getting in on these games and it was always fun to be a kid playing cards with adults. It almost made you feel cool.

My Thanksgiving over the past few years have been all over the place, honestly kind of miserable and there's no traditions. This year I wanted to change that. My parents are coming over practically all day. When this blog post is up, it'll be Thanksgiving morning and here's a look into our day this year!

Our breakfast will be bacon, cinnamon rolls, and fruit (something somewhat light but satisfying to keep us held over until the appetizers and dinner is ready)!

The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade starts at 9 am and this will definitely be on in my home! We'll kind of just hang out and watch the parade until noon when it's over!

Once the parade is over, I'll get myself ready for the day and begin any meal prep or food that wasn't done in the morning or would need to be done during this timeframe! From here, I'll be cooking for hours in the kitchen and serving the appetizers, drinks, and food. I'm always back and forth from cooking and relaxing. Our invitation for Thanksgiving went out for 3 pm so I'm sure there will be those who come early and late. I'll play the football game(s) and once that is over and everybody has eaten dinner, I'll put a holiday movie on and bring out the desserts.

Let us know in the comments if you have any Thanksgiving traditions or what your plans are! Hope everyone has an amazing holiday! Xoxox
