Simple Dinner

Hey yall! I know life can get busy and dinner usually gets put on the back burner. These recipes are a mix of comfort and healthy yet easy dinners that have minimal ingredients or can be interchanged. So, today I wanted to share these recipes with you! 


Turkey Bowls

What you need:

  • 1 can of corn
  • 1 can of black beans 
  • 1 lb of ground turkey
  • 1 can of tomatoes with green chiles
  • seasonings of choice (ex. salt, pepper, garlic salt, Italian seasoning, parsley, oregano, etc)
  • sauce of choice (ex. barbeque, teriyaki, etc)
How to make:

Step 1 - Season the ground turkey to your liking (I use salt, pepper, garlic salt, paprika, parsley, oregano)
Step 2 - Drain the can of corn, black beans and tomatoes with green chiles
Step 3 - In a large pan, brown the meat 
Step 4 - Once the meat is browned and the vegetables are drained, combine the vegetables with the turkey and cook for approximately 10 more minutes to warm the vegetables 
Step 5 - Mix the meat and vegetables with sauce (if preferred) 
Step 6 - Serve and enjoy!


Chicken Pot Pie

What you need:
  • 3-4 chicken breasts
  • 1 bag of frozen mixed vegetables
  • 2 10.5 oz cans of cream of chicken 
  • Biscuits 
  • 2 tablespoons butter
How to make:

Step 1 - Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
Step 2 - Season the chicken to your liking (I use salt, pepper, garlic, and some minced onion)
Step 3 - Bowl the chicken for about 15-20 minutes
Step 4 - In a large bowl, mix the frozen vegetables, the cream of chicken soup, and the butter 
Step 5 - Once the chicken has finished, shred the chicken and add to the vegetable and cream of chicken mixture and transfer to baking pan
*Per your preference, you can bake the biscuits separately or on top of the chicken and vegetable mixture*
Step 6 - Bake your chicken pot pie mixture approximately 20 minutes or until the biscuits are ready
Step 7 - Serve together and enjoy!






Sausage With Veggies

What you need:
  • Some type of sausage (Italian sausage, chicken sausage, vegan sausage) - in link form (I included a picture of what I used for reference)
  • 1 bag of frozen peppers and onions OR 1 onion ,1 green bell pepper, 1 red bell pepper, and 1 orange bell pepper
  • 1 pack of hot dog buns or sub rolls
How to make:

Step 1 - Season your veggies and onion to preference (this may also depend on the flavor of sausage chosen)
Step 2 - Sautee your veggies in a frying pan
Step 3 - Cook your sausage thoroughly on a flat frying pan
Step 4 - Once your sausage is done, toast your rolls/bun (if using)
Step 5 - Serve and top the sausage with the veggies!
